Trifecta Meals Nutritional Information

Trifecta provides macronutrient breakdowns for each dish, but you also have the option to customize your order to fit your exact dietary needs through their Meal Prep option which lets you purchase cooked and seasoned individual proteins, carbohydrates and vegetables. Plus, their meals use whole food ingredients and are low in sugar, processed oils and preservatives. Sodium levels vary by meal and Trifecta notes that sodium is higher for the keto meals generally by design since keto dieters can benefit from higher sodium intake.

The average calories of each Trifecta entree range between 340 and 450 calories and contain between 21 and 32 grams of protein. Carbohydrates range between 35 and 55 grams on average except for the keto meals which average about 10 net carbs per entree. In addition, each individual entree comes with the standard nutrition facts label so you know exactly what you’re getting from each meal.

Trifecta Delivery Options

Trifecta delivers macro-balanced meals unlike many other meal delivery services that claim to be healthy but focus on gimmicky diets. Trifecta advises that you eat their meals within seven days of delivery or freeze them for up to three months. They use recyclable plastic trays for the meals and the rest of the packaging used is either recyclable, biodegradable or both. Trifecta provides tracking information via email when your order ships out and you can use the shipping carrier to get updates on your delivery. Orders must be placed Sunday by midnight PST in order to receive your first package by the following Friday and your weekly order will auto-renew until you cancel, so meals should arrive on a predictable schedule.

Meal Costs, Coupons and Deals

A week’s worth of dinner entrees from Trifecta at the time of this writing costs $110.99 plus a flat $9.99 shipping fee for the lower 48 states. (They will deliver to Alaska and Hawaii, but the shipping charge jumps significantly to $49.99.) This works out to $17.28 per meal and you can save about five percent if you order double the number of entrees at once. Vegan and vegetarian meal plans are about $.86  cheaper per meal. Adding breakfasts to your order nearly doubles the cost, but if you order both breakfast and dinner entrees for two weeks (28 total meals), the cost per meal drops to $11.11. This cost per meal is comparable to other similar services.

Here’s a look at the pricing breakdown*:

Meal Type 7 Meals 10 Meals 14 Meals Shipping
Vegan/Vegetarian $104.93 $144.90 $195.86 $9.99
All Other Meals $110.99 $157.99 $219.99 $9.99

About Trifecta

Trifecta is a meal delivery service that focuses on using organic and sustainable ingredients to take the guesswork out of nutrition for their performance-oriented clientele. Their mission, in their own words is, “to remove the possibility for diet failure by delivering fresh, healthy meals directly to your door.” Brother and sister Greg and Elizabeth Connolly started Trifecta because they both are fitness enthusiasts who were frustrated with meal prepping on their own and found existing meal services lacking in quality.

Customer Service Information

If you need to get in touch with Trifecta’s customer success team, they offer several options including phone and email support. Additionally, their website’s FAQ section answers dozens of common questions about the meals, ordering and delivery.

Comparing Trifecta to Top Meal Delivery Brands

Now that you know a bit about Trifecta, let’s take a look at how it stacks up against other top meal delivery brands.

Trifecta vs. Factor Meals

Like Trifecta, Factor offers delivered meals with a focus on nutrition, and they have several comparable plans such as high-protein, vegan, vegetarian and keto. In general, Factor meals are higher in calories for a similar price (other than their “Calorie Smart” option), which may be a good or bad thing depending on your dietary goals. Factor does not have a Meal Prep option like Trifecta’s.

Trifecta vs. Flex Pro Meals

Flex Pro Meals offers a similar meal delivery service to Trifecta, though their meals tend to be higher-calorie and lower in cost than Trifecta and have less of an emphasis on healthy options, (they do offer a keto plan). Like Trifecta, Flex Pro allows you to order individual food a la carte for people that want to do their own meal planning. Trifecta focuses more on diet types like Paleo, Vegan or Whole30 while Flex Pro categorizes them by macros like High Protein or Low Carb meals.

Trifecta vs. Icon Meals

Icon Meals offers high-protein meals aimed at athletes, similar to Trifecta, and the cost is comparable as well. Icon is a good option for those who want to get all of their daily calories from one place since they have breakfasts, lunches, dinners as well as snacks. Icon doesn’t have a vegan meal option.

Trifecta vs. Sunbasket

Like Trifecta, Sunbasket emphasizes healthy meals and organic and sustainable ingredients. Also like Trifecta, they have a number of meal plans catering to different diet styles including diabetic, low-carb, paleo, pescatarian and vegetarian, among others. The cost per meal from either plan is comparable, but the biggest difference is that Trifecta meals are delivered vacuum-sealed; Sunbasket meals are not vacuum-sealed.

Our Verdict

Trifecta is a great meal delivery option for health-conscious eaters and performance-oriented athletes looking to take the guesswork out of their diet. Between the six pre-set meal styles and the a la carte meal prep option, there is a plan that should work for anyone willing to pay a little extra for higher-quality meals with a focus on nutrition.
