Siena Mattress Construction
The Siena mattress is made up of five carefully constructed layers that all work together to provide the right balance of cushion and support.
Here’s what you can expect from each layer:
Layer 1: Cooling Poly-Blend Top Cover with Polyethylene
This top-most layer is all about creating a comfortable sleep experience. It’s ultra soft and breathable, releasing heat and keeping you cool as you sleep.
Layer 2: Responsive Memory Foam
This 2.5-inch layer of ultra comfortable gel memory foam adapts to your unique body shape and size, cradling its contours and providing pressure relief for your joints.
Layer 3: Body Supporting Layer
Made of a denser polyfoam, this 2-inch layer of transition foam provides extra cushion, which means extra support. It also includes a special ripple that increases the breathability of the mattress.
Layer 4: Foundational Foam
This 5.5-inch layer of supportive polyfoam serves as a sturdy base for all of the comfort layers above it, so they can continue doing their job—keeping you comfortable as you drift off to dreamland.
Layer 5: Shift-Resistant Lower Cover
This layer ensures that your mattress stays put, no matter how much you turn, roll or even jump on it.
Materials
The Siena has met all CertiPUR-US® standards for materials, emissions, product durability and performance, which means it is void of ozone depleting materials, mercury, lead, formaldehyde, phthalates and other harmful compounds.
Siena Mattress Type
The Siena mattress is a medium-firm, all-foam mattress designed to provide optimal spinal alignment, pressure point relief and temperature regulation.
Ages Suited For
The Siena mattress is a great mattress for all age levels, although it is better suited to certain sleep positions and body weights (see section below).
Sleeper Types Suited For
The Siena mattress is a great choice for almost all sleepers. Here’s more information on how the Siena performs, according to sleep position:
Side Sleepers:
Side sleepers require a mattress that has enough cushion to cradle their hips and shoulders, and enough support to promote proper spinal alignment. The Siena’s all-foam construction and medium-level firmness strikes the perfect balance between the two, and ensures your bodyweight is evenly distributed, alleviating pressure on your joints.
Back Sleepers:
For back sleepers, keeping the spine in proper alignment is of utmost importance. This means the ideal mattress will have some give but not enough to allow sinkage. The Siena’s medium firm feel, pressure-relieving memory foam and polyfoam support core all work together to provide just the right amount of support for back sleepers.
Stomach Sleepers:
Stomach sleepers need a mattress that will prevent their midsection from sinking in, which can cause an unnatural, unhealthy bend in the spine. The dense foam and medium firmness of the Siena provides a good deal of support—enough for a sleeper up to about 230 pounds. Sleepers with larger midsections may wish to explore a firmer mattress to prevent sinkage.
Firmness Level
On a scale of one to 10, the Siena mattress is rated a 6.5, which is considered medium firm. Medium firm mattresses are very popular since they provide an appealing combination of support and cushion.
