Is Loom & Leaf a Good Mattress for Back, Stomach or Side Sleepers?

In order to appeal to a broader range of sleeping styles, the Loom & Leaf mattress is available in two firmness options.

First up: the Relaxed Firm—the most popular of the two comfort levels. The company rates this option between a 5 and 7 out of 10 on the firmness scale. Thanks to a good balance of lush comfort and contouring support, the Relaxed Firm is suitable for all sleep positions, allowing for healthy spine alignment for back, side and stomach sleepers.

The Firm is rated an 8 out of 10 on the firmness scale and is ideal for stomach sleepers or anyone who prefers the feel of a very firm mattress. The firmer foams give the feeling of sleeping on top of the mattress, rather than sinking into it.

Body weight can play a factor in which firmness level to choose. Those over 230 pounds may prefer the added support of the Firm option, while those under 130 pounds may want to opt for the Relaxed Firm, which provides optimal support while still delivering comfort. Anyone falling between those two ranges will want to decide based on preferred sleep position.

For stomach and back sleepers, both options do a good job of balancing support and optimal pressure relief, reducing strain and helping to alleviate back pain. Side sleepers will want to gravitate to the Relaxed Firm, though for some, especially those under 130 pounds, even this option may be a bit too firm.

Heads up couples: The Loom & Leaf offers great motion isolation, which is a mattress’s ability to absorb movement in one part of the bed. So those who sleep with a partner can rest assured that fidgety sleepers, late-night trips to the bathroom, and even midnight snack-attacks won’t be felt on the other side of the mattress.

How It Works: Purchasing Your Loom & Leaf Mattress

Purchasing your Loom & Leaf mattress is easy, with a streamlined online ordering experience. All you’ll need to do is decide on the size and firmness level: Relaxed Firm or Firm. If you have any questions, Sleep Guides are available online or by phone to help you figure out the right fit and firmness for your best night’s sleep.

From there, check out the sleep accessories. Saatva offers a discount of up to $100 on foundations or adjustable bases if purchased at the same time as a mattress. You can also choose to add an organic mattress pad or a pair of memory foam pillows to complete your dream suite.

Once you’ve placed your order, they’ll get to work crafting your mattress by hand. Because each mattress is made to order just for you, the company gives a 9- to 21-day timeline for delivery, depending on your location.

When it’s ready, Saatva’s white glove delivery service will contact you to schedule a convenient delivery date and time. Since this service includes free setup of your new mattresses and any accessories, you’ll need to be home at the time of delivery. As part of the delivery service, they’ll even remove your old mattress and foundation as well, if you choose.

Currently, Loom & Leaf mattresses can only ship to the contiguous United States, though the company can help set you up with a freight forwarding service in California or Seattle for delivery to Hawaii or Alaska.

Loom & Leaf Mattress Materials & Design

Every layer of a Loom & Leaf mattress is handcrafted in the U.S. with premium, high-quality materials that are designed for cool, supportive comfort and durability—and they’re easy on the earth, too.

All of the eco-friendly foams are made with renewable oils, produce fewer greenhouse gases during manufacturing and meet the CertiPUR-US® standards for health and environmental safety.

The Top Layer:

The cover is constructed from 100 percent organic cotton and treated with Saatva’s exclusive Guardin® plant-based antimicrobial treatment. Quilted with two layers of plush comfort foam and a nontoxic natural flame barrier made from thistle pulp (rather than chemical sprays) for added peace of mind. It’s breathable, hypoallergenic and soft to the touch.

The Middle Layers:

Just underneath the cover is the proprietary spinal zone gel layer, a special gel-infused memory foam that’s designed to keep you cool and provide maximum spinal support.

Then, a layer of ultra-premium five-pound memory foam, which refers to the density rating of the foam, or how much one cubic foot of the material weighs. A five-pound density rating falls into the medium-density category, providing an ideal balance of body-contouring comfort, firm support, and pressure-point relief.

The Bottom Layer:

Multiple layers of high-density foam make up the base of the Loom & Leaf mattress. These supportive layers give added stability and durability for a comfortable night’s sleep.

Where is Loom & Leaf mattress made?

Amazing.

I ordered that loom and leaf king relaxed firm. I am a stomach sleeper and this worked out prefect. The bed is super comfortable. I ordered and returned a mattress before this one and so I was really worried I wouldn’t like this. So happy that I ordered it and should have gone with this one in the beginning!

Loom and Leaf

We have the Loom and Leaf. It is an amazing bed. I sleep on side, back, and at times, stomach. I feel great in all positions. I recommend.

Best Of The Best

We've had our king-size mattress for about 5 years now and it's as phenomenal now as it was the day we received it. Every night I get into bed, I sigh in comfort. I sleep on my back while my wife sleeps face-down. Neither of us have any complaints. It's amazing to me how much better this mattress is than anything we've compared it against in the stores. On top of that, it was literally thousands cheaper. You won't regret purchasing this mattress.

A New Way To Sleep

My wife and I are in love with our Loom & Leaf mattress. We gave it a try at Macy's, along with a few other types. This guy was the clear winner- we can both do acrobatics on our individual sides of the bed and not disturb the other. We sleep cool and comfy compared to our old spring mattress. Delivery was great, too!

A Little Too Good!

We've had our Cal King Loom & Leaf mattress for nearly two years & still look forward to climbing into bed at night...so much so that we dread extended stays elsewhere knowing the mattress at whichever hotel or B&B won't compare. Both my wife and I have had injuries from athletics & night after night this mattress produces a luxurious & pain free sleep When the time comes, we'll certainly purchase again.
