Hathaspace Air Purifier HSP001 Performance
Air Quality Control
The HSP001 excels in air quality control, filtering 99.97 percent of particles as small as 0.3 microns, and completely turning over the air in a room on an hourly basis.
With a four-stage true HEPA filtration system, the HSP001 is designed to clean and purify the air in rooms up to 700 square feet. It removes:
-
Dust & Allergens: The HSP001’s true HEPA filters are highly effective at removing common allergens including dust mites, pollen and mold spores.
-
Pet Hair & Dander: Hathaspace uses high-grade H11 and H13 HEPA filters to capture pet particles like hair and dander, making it a great choice for pet owners.
-
Smoke & VOCs: The multi-stage filtration system uses true HEPA filters, a cold catalyst filter, and a dense activated carbon filter, which together are able to capture physical particles while also absorbing smoke, odors and VOC’S like formaldehyde and benzene.
-
Viruses & Bacteria: These are some of the smallest airborne particles, and are effectively removed from the air via the antibacterial H13 HEPA filter, giving you more protection from these smaller particles.
-
Odors: The activated carbon filter neutralizes odors from cooking, pets and smoke.
This model also features a built-in anion ionizer. Anion ionizers, also known as negative ion generators, electrically charge air molecules to create negative ions or anions. The negative ions are released into the air where they attach to positively charged ions like dust, pollen and bacteria. The combination of positive and negative charges creates heavier particles, which fall to the ground or stick to surfaces and should be cleaned afterward. The anion ionizer in the HSP001 operates separately from the filtration system and does not turn on automatically, allowing complete control of use.
Filtration Stages
The HSP001 features a four-stage filtration system with a built-in anion ionizer, creating a five-stage system that is highly effective at purifying the air in your home. Here’s how it works:
-
Cold Catalyst Filter: The first stage of filtration starts by removing larger, more visible particles from the air.
-
Activated Carbon Filter: A dense honeycomb activated carbon filter then removes smoke, odors, gasses and VOCs from the air as it passes through.
-
Antibacterial Filter: This specialized filter absorbs bacteria and germs before heading to the next stage.
-
True HEPA Filter: This powerhouse of a filter removes 99.97 percent of airborne pollutants as small as 0.3 microns like dust, pollen and pet dander.
-
Anion Ionizer: As an optional stage, the ionizer can be switched on by the user to further purify the air.
Hathaspace HSP001 Filter
It’s good to know that the filters in the HSP001 are not washable or reusable, and must be changed every four months to maintain the machine’s performance. Replacement filters are available for purchase on the Hathaspace website and will cost you about $50, unless you opt for the company’s filter subscription, which saves you 10 percent on replacement filters and conveniently ships to your door every two or four months at your specification.
User-Friendly Setup & Operation
Users consistently praise the HSP001 for its ease of setup and operation. The included manual provides clear, step-by-step instructions and the control panel is intuitive and straightforward. The remote control adds an extra layer of convenience, allowing users to operate the air purifier from a distance.
One of the standout features of the Hathaspace HSP001 is its quiet operation. With noise levels between 23 and 55 decibels, it’s quiet and efficient. As a point of reference, 40 decibels is equivalent to the sound of a refrigerator hum or a light rain. Even at higher fan speeds, the noise is unobtrusive, making it suitable for use in bedrooms, nurseries and offices.
Energy Consumption & Efficiency
The Hathaspace HSP001 is designed to be energy efficient. Its smart air quality sensor and auto mode ensure that the air purifier only uses the necessary amount of power to maintain optimal air quality. This efficiency helps keep electricity costs low, even when the air purifier is running continuously.
